I first discovered Nixoderm whilst perusing the net some time ago, for a cure for my dreaded hormonal spots. I really hate my time of the month, I always get a massive humdinger of a zit somewhere on my chin, and there is nothing I can do to stop this! I have come to terms with this and now I just have to use products that get rid of any unsightly zits, as quickly as possible.
Picture the scene......I'm in work....it's Friday afternoon and I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm getting a rare night out away from the kids. I have my outfit and make up planned. It is going to be amazing!..... Wait...... WTF is that funny tingling sensation on my chin?...... I touch it. I don't bloody well believe this, my skin has been great for weeks, and the only weekend I'm getting to go out a massive cyst zit appears. Just my luck!
This was one of those deep zits that hurts like hell and need to be squeezed to relieve the pressure. I knew I was going to have to squeeze the crap out of it otherwise it would be there for days on end. So I pipped it, and it literally doubled in size. It was angry, sore and enormous! How the hell was I going to get rid of this by tomorrow? I need a miracle. Then I remembered my little pot of Nixoderm. It's my only hope. I washed my face in Garnier Pure 3 in 1 scrub, applied Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion (I need a full Salicylic acid hit). I then applied a generous sized amount of Nixoderm to the spot. Added a little more before I went to sleep and hoped for the best.
What is Nixoderm?
Nixoderm is for skin problems such as eczema, pimples, blemishes, rash, athletes foot, ringworm itchy and scaling skin. It is widely used in many countries such as Colombia, Africa, Australia and Malaysia. It is antibacterial and effective at reducing acne/blemishes due to the Salicyclic Acid and the yellow Sulfur it contains.
Ingredients
Benzoic Acid 6%, salicylic Acid 2.5%, Titanium Dioxide 10%, Menthol 1.1%, Precipitated Sulphur 4.6% in a soothing emollient base.
This stuff isn't for the faint hearted. It is lethal with a capital L! It's extremely strong, it stinks (that's the sulfur) and it burns (only when it first goes on), but I can deal with all that because it works. Now don't get me wrong, it won't perform miracles, hell....what will? However, it seriously does shrivel up my zits nicely. I woke up on Saturday morning with a small dry scab where my spot was. This was exactly what I was hoping for, and was easily concealed under my make up. Result!
Nixoderm is serious stuff, and I would proceed with caution if you were to try it, just in case it irritates. But if you have acne prone skin it's well worth a try. It certainly works for me. Best product I've tried to date for drying up spots fast! It's so cheap too. You can pick one up on ebay for around £2.50.
Has anyone tried Nixoderm?
I haven't tried it but going to look on ebay now. Hate spots with a passion and this sounds great x
ReplyDeleteI haven't but it sounds pretty good!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of it before so it's going on my list to try. The menthol is a bit off putting though. I hate the smell of it!
ReplyDeleteStill, for dried up zits it might be worth suffering.
@Sophie & Carly, It is really good. You should try it x
ReplyDelete@Demonicsmurfette, I can't smell any menthol in this, only sulphur....not the most pleasant scent! x
I'm from Malaysia and I use this. It's been in the market for a very very long time.
