Manuka Doctor Bee Venom Rejuvenating Skin Mask, £49.99, 50ml
''This intensive moisturising mask contains over 10,000 bee stings per pot! It's dual action may help reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, while the antioxidant qualities support anti-ageing by promoting cell regeneration. Ongoing weekly use may also may help reduce the appearance of scars.'' source
The Rejuvenating Skin Mask feels more like a very thick cream than a mask. Once a week after cleansing, I simply apply over my face & neck. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes and then rub off gently with upward movements, then lastly, wipe skin clean with damp cloth. It smells amazing and once on, leaves a tingling sensation on my skin which only lasts for a few seconds. After it subsides, I find it dries down and sets, giving my skin an instant tightness. I like to leave on for the full 30 minutes. I have also gone to bed with it on and slept with it overnight.
When removed I do find my skin is brighter and slightly tighter. It leaves my skin looking well nourished and well rested. It's too early to say whether or not it has an anti ageing effect on my skin, as I haven't been using it long enough, only time will tell with that. However, I do find it very moisturising on my dry skin and I feel thoroughly pampered after using it. I'm not going to deny it.....this stuff is very expensive, but if you can afford to buy a pot then go for it. I say it's well worth it.
Manuka Doctor Repairing Skin Cream, £24.99, 50ml
''This light weight non-greasy cream delivers a perfect balance of intense hydration and purified nutrients that accelerate skin regeneration. In turn, repairing the skin's natural balance and assisting in the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and scarring''. source
I find that this moisturiser is the consistency of a thick gel, not a cream as the title suggests. It comes in a handy pump bottle. Only a very small amount is needed to cover the entire face and neck area (around 1/2 pump). It smells wonderful too and is instantly cooling and refreshing to my skin on application. It glides over my skin like silk, which feels so wonderfully soothing.
I've been using this for around 3 weeks now and I can see a definite difference in my skin's appearance. It has not only given my skin much needed moisture, but it has also helped to fade some scars that I'd had for a while caused by the dreaded hormonal zits I sometimes get on my chin. I'd been getting more than usual lately (probably due to stress, and feeling run down) and had some huge ones which left nasty dark marks behind. After using this cream they faded nicely and have now completely disappeared. My skin feels very smooth and soft. I am simply in love with this and will be purchasing a bottle immediately when it runs out.
